  • might as well put the extras on e-bay. You only need enough to get you to Dec 21 anyway. Trader Joes also carries pure maple syrup and their prices are WAY better than whole foods (on just about everything)

  • Chris, The numbers of 2.2 b4 taxes is based on if they take the lump sum, which is usually 62% of the total winnings. Your calculations are correct if they take the money over a 25 year term (which would be less than $100,000 per year each after taxes, still not chump change).

  • This happened in Mass. when the lottery was young. A gentleman thought he had to pick the numbers in the order they came up in also. After the 2nd ticket when the numbers sorted themselves in numerical order, he took the 2 tickets and left. The pot was about 20 million and there were 3 winners.

  • I have been lucky enough to have spent some time in Christchurch. It is one of the prettiest cities in the world. The cardboard cathedral looks beautiful. Best wishes to all there and I think that the natural beauty of the city comes through, buildings or not.

  • Way back when the lottery was young, in NY state, if you got all quick picks on the same ticket, none of the numbers repeated on up to 5 quick picks. For a "true" quick pik, you got them on separate tickets.

  • I think she was joking with a friend that she had the ticket and it just got totally out of control. She also claims that all of the "pool" members got copies of the tickets before the drawing so if she actually did buy the ticket on her own she has a very solid leg to stand on.
